About us/

We place people front and centre of all our thinking. For us, the built environment forms the backdrop against which people’s lives are experienced – the happier and healthier we can make these experiences, the more our communities will thrive and prosper, the more our built environments will be valued and the more the investments of our clients will be repaid.

Modern Methods of Construction

Our Approach/

The delivery of a project is a ‘shared journey’ for a broad range of participants – often with competing aspirations and concerns.

Process/

Our design process is ‘people’ driven – informed by extensive consultation, real time data and cultural trends in addition to a deep understanding of the built environment and its evolution at all scales. We are skilled at navigating complex situations, negotiating with multiple stakeholders, building trust and unearthing mutually beneficial opportunities.

COmmunication/

Effective communication is crucial. This is carefully considered and tailored to suit each audience and project stage:

We conduct consultations with community groups and hold interactive workshops where stakeholders are proactively encouraged to contribute to the process. Early-stage ideas are explored using hand drawn sketches and physical models – most importantly we encourage stakeholder engagement and co-creation.

BIM/

BIM models and software enable informed and virtual engagement – offering an early and ongoing appreciation of developing exterior and interior environments. As projects develop, BIM models provide a common platform – facilitating collaboration and allowing the coordination of increasing levels of detail to map how project components will ultimately be assembled. BIM also enables the analysis frameworks through which the benefits of modern methods of construction are optimised – in pursuit of efficient and sustainable project outcomes.

Methodologies/

In addition, we have developed powerful methodologies, such as brand before building, which are proven to enable greater predictability and higher quality outcomes for our clients. This is reinforced through a drive for innovation and extensive experience in the delivery of buildings that have been largely manufactured offsite.

Sustainability & Fairer Futures/

We recognise the inextricable link between environmental and social sustainability. Our designs consider all aspects of sustainability and well being as core drivers for our proposals.

We are committed to working with our clients and collaborators towards the reduction of the construction industry’s contribution to the climate crisis, as well as the removal of barriers to diversity and fairer outcomes. In support of this we are signatories of the RIBA’s Inclusion Charter and UK Architects Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency.

Being able to provide our students with industry-leading facilities, whilst minimising our carbon footprint is something that we are truly proud.
