Lewisham Southwark College

Delivering a vision for aspiration

A major new award winning public building in The Cut at Waterloo provides Southwark College with state of the art facilities. GTH led this project from inception to completion working closely with the college senior management team and our collaboration partner Platform 5 Architects. The project was delivered in phases to match funding streams following on from a site masterplan by GTH. The whole project was delivered within a tight overall budget generated by capital grants which GTH help the college obtain and land sales without requiring college borrowing.

Phase 1 is a Business School and largely a refurbishment project which delivered a significant increase in college efficiencies.
Phase 2 is a Media and Performing Arts school. The development centres on a flexible atrium which can accommodate exhibitions, performances and other events and provides a sense of place and belonging. The design with its views across the atrium, diverse breakout and chill spaces is loved by the students and staff alike.
